Special effects plugins for After Effects, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro and Motion

Products:

Saber Blade

The Saber Blade generator plugin lets you easily keyframe and rotoscope lightsaber effects onto your fan video Jedi battles.

Saber Blade is available in both a free and commercial paid version.

The free version is very basic and lets you set the colour to red, green or blue and adjust the overall width and glow of the blade.

The full-featured paid version lets you also individually adjust the width of each end of the blade for motion blur and perspective effects, adjust the tip pointiness, as well as set the colour to any colour you would like.  Controls are also available to automatically animate flicker and vibration and create a cutout section of the blade for letting it appear to go behind other objects or people.

Blaster Bolt

The Blaster Bolt generator plugin lets you easily animate laser bolt effects onto your Star Wars fan videos.

Blaster Bolt is available in both a free and commercial paid version.

The free version is very basic and lets you set the colour to red, green or blue and adjust the overall width and glow of the bolt.

The full-featured paid version lets you also individually adjust the width of each end of the bolt for perspective effects, as well as set the colour to any colour you would like. Controls are also available to add motion blur and create a cutout section of the bolt for letting it appear to go behind other objects or people.

Space Wipes

The Space Wipes plugin transition lets you easily emulate most of the scene transitions from Star Wars.

Download:

All of our plugins are deployed by an app called FxFactory. It works like Apple's App Store, but it is only for plugins. Just download, install and then launch FxFactory. Then find the FanFilmFX plugins and click download on each one you would like installed on your system. You can test out any plugins you want without buying them but there will be watermark on top of the video. The watermark can be removed by purchasing a license for the plugin and then restarting your editing application.

A tutorial for how to download and install FxFactory is available below.

About Us:

Our names are Alex (age 12) and Ben (10). We are fans of Star Wars, Star Trek, James Bond, The Matrix, Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Futurama, & the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

We've been making our own fan films for a few years now and recently started designing VFX plugins with the help of our dad Tim Dashwood.

So far we have released a few of our Star Wars plugins but there are many more to come, including those inspired by our favourite movies.

We want to hear from you. In fact we would love to see how you have been using our plugins. If we use your footage in a promo we will give you some free licenses!

System Requirements:

All of our plugins require a modern Macintosh computer running either OS X Mavericks 10.9 or Yosemite 10.10 with an ATI/AMD, NVIDIA or Intel HD graphics card with at least 512MB of VRAM. Less VRAM might work but no guarantees.

The plugins were designed for use in Apple's Final Cut Pro X v10.1x, but they will also work in Adobe After Effects CC, Premiere Pro CC and Apple Motion 5.1.  If you would like to use the plugins in Final Cut Pro 7 then you will need to download FxFactory 4.1.9 and NOT upgrade it to v5.
